Snowbird Trip Diary:

RV Trail New York to Florida

Day 9, 10, 11 - Still enjoying Johnson
County Park

Bright and sunny, both yesterday and today, in Indiana (though a bit nippy at night, and especially so when the propane tank needs switching over at 3AM)..

We still have the campground to ourselves. Yesterday, Monday, we spent the day doing very little, and doing it as slowly and carefully as possible.

We were invited to Niki's son's home for a fine spaghetti dinner, a little vino, and more good conversation. We do enjoy the challenge of getting lost on the back country roads and finding our way home again. Every now and then we step it up a notch and try it after dark as well. We are getting good at it, though the jury is out as to whether the getting good is at getting lost or finding our way back.

We did stop by one of Niki's early places of employment, Von Maur, in Greenwood, IN. It's an upscale clothing store for men, women and tots.

Today we plan to continue more of the strenuous activities from yesterday. We hope the sun is also shining at your location,

I guess our day yesterday was probably almost as exciting as yours. I worked under the trailer in the morning. The spare tire is under it and is normally winched up out of the way until needed. Well, ours has a tendency to "un-winch" itself on bumpy roads and I have the concern that it may come down too far at some point and drag on the road. I spent some time assessing the situation and think I now have it secured fairly well with bungee cords. (Not so, as we later find, and end up keeping the trailer spare in the truck bed for the remainder of the trip.)

Yesterday afternoon we took a drive around Indianapolis and stopped at a locally known, cafeteria style restaurant for our mid-afternoon. combination lunch and dinner. The cafeterias are pretty much like what we had in school, usually with a better choice of food., and definitely more expensive.

Came back home and I worked on my websites last evening while Niki worked on her computer. We seldom watch TV and rather read or use the Internet.

Today we will probably meet Niki's son for lunch near Indianapolis. He owns several liquor stores and does quite well with them though it is a lot of work.

Tomorrow we head about an hour and a half Southwest to Bedford, Indiana for the weekend and Niki's class reunion. Niki's sister still lives there so we will visit her as well.

They have a beautiful State Park and the reunion banquet will be at the Inn at the park. Will report more on it when we get there.

Niki, Jack and K.C.
