General Comments about Campground:
RV and Tent Camping allowed. One bathhouse for whole
campground, both electric and non-electric campsites are
available, the campground is open all year. Facility
cleaning, mowing, trash removal provided by a contractor.
Campground Services Provided:
Power, land line phone service, sewer and water hookup,
storage shed, Volunteer Vest and Hat.
Fee envelopes, reservation signs, gloves, cleaning supplies,
etc. supplied by the Forest Service. This is a volunteer
position with no salary.
Host Duties:
Provide information and assistance to campers and monitor
campground and enforce campground rules. Help with plumbing
and electrical issues (general issues) until FS or repair
person can get to the campground.
Assisting visitors in understanding campground fees and
visitor regulations in a friendly and courteous manner.
Observing the condition of campground facilities and
reporting items needing attention/maintenance to the Forest
Service.
Incidental restocking toilet paper in restrooms and
incidental cleaning of restrooms as necessary.
Performing incidental general cleanup of campsites, fire
rings, & grills after visitors leave.
Post campsite reservations as provided by Reserve America or
the District Office.
Being present in the campground that will primarily include
coverage on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and
holidays. Inform the District Office when you will not be
available as host, so they can get coverage if needed.
Remove litter and debris from the Badin Lake Trail at least
twice a month, starting at the Cove Boat Ramp point on the
trail and ending at eastern edge of the Arrowhead Campground
and remove litter on the paved paths within the campground.
Help out with volunteer sign up and signing out of tools on
volunteer work days. Keeping track of the tools that are
used by the volunteers that are stored in the shed at host
site.

The Uwharrie National Forest provides excellent fishing and
hiking, motorized trails, mountain biking trails, equestrian
trails, shooting range, hunting, picnic area with a shelter,
boat ramp for motorized boats adjacent to campground on
Badin Lake, canoeing and kayaking on the Uwharrie River and
Badin Lake. Approximately 1.5 hours from Charlotte, 1 hour
from Greensboro, 1.5 hours from Winston-Salem, and 2 hours
from Raleigh/Durham.
